Ballard’s live daytime band Sugar is one of the many reasons that makes Ballard’s the place to be this summer.

There are many reasons to head for Ballard’s during the summer season: Ballard’s beach, oceanfront dining, tiki bars…and the biggest draw of all? Live music every day! No matter what day of the week you step on our shore, you’re sure to have a great time with live music as your backdrop.

One of our featured bands this summer is Sugar, featuring Ric Haddad on drums. Sugar is a phenomenal, high energy band that brings the Ballard’s crowd to its feet. Performing together as a band for over 15 years, Sugar has really seen and done it all. They’ve shared the stage with the likes of Bo Diddley, Rick Derringer, Tower of Power, The Go Go’s, Kansas, Toto, Dick Dale, Eddie Money, Trick Pony, Men At Work, J. Geils, John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band, and Peter Frampton, to name a few.

Sugar plays Top-40 high-energy hits from the first song of the night to a more relaxing atmosphere as they slowly ease the Ballard’s crowd into a night filled with excitement and dancing,…they’ve got it covered. The Sugar music catalog boasts an enormous repertoire of material that spans a multitude of genres, styles and generations, past and present, old and new.  The band delivers a great performance with their unique blend of musical variety, vitality and class.

Versatile and accomplished drummer Ric Haddad has toured Europe, South America, and has played on both coasts of the United States. He has accompanied rock and pop legends such as Carly Simon and blues diva Maria Muldaur. Haddad was also recruited to play with the incomparable Jesse Norman, Sarah Vaughn and with members of the innovative MCA recording artists; the New York Voices. He performed in Las Vegas with Ace Freely from Kiss and members of the Little Richard Band. Haddad has done numerous recording sessions in New York and Boston, and is one of the most sought after drummers in the New York tri-state area.
